BRODARSKI INSTITUT

Brodarski institut is an institute of applied technical sciences in the fields of maritime and green technologies. As a research and development and technology organization it has 65 years of tradition and experience. Range of activities from experimental product development to prototype designing, turnkey projects, designing, supervision, computations, measurements and tests are among the main activities of the Institute. Brodarski institut dominantly supports local industry, but it is also recognized by foreign partners as a reliable partner in development projects and technology transfer.

The Institute as a limited liability company generates 85% of its revenue through commercial contracts with the clients, while 40% of the Institute's revenue is generated from foreign markets.

A high competitive capability of Brodarski institut is ensured by its experts and scientists in the fields of shipbuilding, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, metallurgy, industrial design and other specialized fields. The highly professional staff and a number of well equipped laboratories with measurement and other specialized equipment have enabled the Institute to become a regional scientific and expert centre in the fields of maritime and green technologies.

RUĐER BOŠKOVIĆ INSTITUTE

The Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) is regarded as Croatia’s leading scientific institute in the natural and biomedical sciences as well as in marine and environmental research. Today, the Institute gathers more than 550 scientists and researchers in more than 80 laboratories pursuing research in theoretical and experimental physics, material physics and chemistry, electronics, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology and medicine, marine and environmental sciences, informational and computer sciences, and laser and nuclear research and development.

The Institute is the most internationally competitive in Croatian, as demonstrated through its participation in international research projects, such as the EC FP5-7 programs funded by the European Commission, as well as the IAEA, NATO, NSF, SNSF, DAAD and other international scientific foundations.

RBI scientists and researchers are involved in 138 domestic and 27 international projects and actively participate in higher education in 78 undergraduate, 245 graduate and doctoral studies, thus making RBI an important partner to universities in Republic of Croatia and abroad.

Due to its size, increasing scientific productivity, international reputation in research, as well as the quality of its scientific personnel and research facilities, the RBI has assumed the role of a key industrial and economic partner of the Republic of Croatia.




EARTO

The European Association of Research and Technology Organisations – EARTO - is a non-profit international association established in Brussels. The Association represents the interests of about 350 Research and Technology Organisations – RTOs – from across the European Union and "FP-associated" countries.

EARTO Vision: a European research and innovation system without borders in which RTOs occupy nodal positions and possess the necessary resources and independence to make a major contribution to a competitive European economy and high quality of life through beneficial cooperation with all stakeholders.

EARTO Mission: to promote and defend the interests of RTOs in Europe by reinforcing their profile and position as a key player in the minds of EU decision-makers and by seeking to ensure that European R&D and innovation programmes are best attuned to their interests; to provide added-value services to EARTO members to help them to improve their operational practices and business performance as well as to provide them with information and advice to help them make the best use of European R&D and innovation programme funding opportunities.
